Kunduli gang-rape: HC asks Govt to submit report in 4 weeks
Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Friday asked the State Government to complete investigation into the sensational gang-rape and suicide of a minor girl in Kunduli of Koraput district and submit its report within four weeks.
The High Court also recommended that the probe into the incident be conducted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) if the investigation report is not found to be satisfactory.
A minor tribal girl of Sorisapadar village was allegedly gang-raped by a group of security personnel on October 10 two years ago on the jungle road of Musaguda village. Her mother filed an FIR in Pottangi PS alleging involvement of four armed personnel in uniform. Odisha Police began investigation into the incident tagging it as ‘red flag’ case. The girl committed suicide on January 22, 2018. The incident had sparked outrage in the State two years ago.
