Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore in Red Zone
Bhubaneswar: Three districts – Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore – are under the Red Zone with a spike of COVID-19 positive cases in the recent past, as per the report by Union Health Ministry.
Bhubaneswar is currently in the Orange Zone. Earlier, Bhubaneswar was in the Red Zone with maximum coronavirus positive cases which had emerged consecutively for several days.
Similarly, Khurda (including State capital Bhubaneswar), Sundargarh, Kendrapara, Koraput, Dhenkanal and Kalahandi districts are placed in the Orange Zone after reporting fewer fresh cases and more recoveries recently. The rest 21 districts are under Green Zone.
Meanwhile, Balangir district administration on Friday sealed several areas in the district following detection of two COVID-19 positive cases in Lekharia village. An 18-year-old youth and a 22-year-old youth of Lekharia village tested positive for the virus. Both are Tamil Nadu returnees.
One more person has been tested positive for novel coronavirus in Jajpur. This was informed by the State Information and Public Relations department. A 35-year-old female from Basudevpur of Jajpur has tested positive for Covid-19. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway.
With this, the district has now 40 active cases while Odisha’s tally has reached 149.
