ISBT-Baramunda project set to be completed by June 2022
Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) is expected to complete the construction of the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) project at Baramunda by June 2022. The ISBT-Baramunda project is being built by BDA over 15.5 acres land at an estimated cost of Rs 180 crore. The Bus Depot at Khandagiri is also part of the project with a capacity for parking 300 buses.
5T Secretary V K Pandian, who visited the project site on Sunday on the advice of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, reviewed the progress of the work and stressed on maintaining quality of work and meeting the deadline. He also reviewed the progress of the new road to connect CRPF Square with Institute of Mathematics, the affordable housing project in Chandrasekharpur and the Incubation Tower near Infocity.
The 13.6 km Left Parallel Road Project is being executed by PWD at an estimated cost of Rs 92 crore to reduce the traffic load on Jayadev Vihar-Patia road. The road will connect CRPF Square with the Institute of Mathematics in phases.
Currently, 5.17 km of 6-lane road is under construction connecting Xavier Square with Infocity Square. This project is expected to be completed by February 2022.
BDA is constructing affordable housing project in Chandrasekharpur on PPP basis. The project with 2,600 houses is coming up over 20.21 acres of land of which 6.5 acres is earmarked for development by the PPP partner. The colony will have community facilities like primary school, primary health centre, shopping area and play area. The project will be completed in two phases by September 2022. Pandian suggested that the allotment of the houses can be made soon so that the beneficiaries can monitor the progress and quality of the construction.
The Incubation Tower near Infocity is being constructed by IDCO at a project cost of Rs 221 crore. The G+12 floors with two basement floor buildings are coming up in two towers with a built-up area of 3.36 lakh sq feet. The O-hub for the Start-ups will be part of this project over 5 floors and 67,594 sq feet. The project is scheduled to be completed by December this year.
