Police bust sex racket posing as customer in Banki

Cuttack: A sex racket was busted by police at Kalapathar in Banki of Cuttack district on Tuesday. As per initial reports, a team of Baideswar police station successfully carried out the operation to bust the illegal prostitution racket.

It is learnt that the sex racket was busted after the concerned police station official carried out a probe and reached the spot posing as a customer. Subsequently, two girls were rescued and two youths were arrested from the spot by the police.

It is pertinent to mention here that the illegal flesh trade is flourishing in different parts of Odisha. Several times it has been found that several girls are being forced into prostitution after being trafficked from different parts of the country and outside.

An investigation is also currently underway after it was found that a minor girl from Bangladesh was allegedly forced into prostitution in Cuttack. The 16-year-old-Bangladeshi girl was rescued by police from the Link Road area under the Madhupatna police station jurisdiction on November 9. Later carrying out police, a couple was arrested in connection with the case.
