PM Modi’s 3-day stay brings Odisha into focus once again

Bhubaneswar: Preparations have reached the last stage ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s three-day visit to Odisha from November 29 to December 1. This will also be Modi’s first continuous three-day stay in the State after his party formed the government.

Odisha state BJP office in Bhubaneswar has been decorated before PM Modi’s visit. Elaborate security arrangements have been made and its review has been done at the state party office with the help of sniffing dogs. Earlier a day before, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi had reviewed the preparedness at the BJP state office. As per sources, PM Modi will remain at the state party office for around two hours. He will review the fulfilment of the promises given by the party during the last General Election and various government schemes.

The party MLAs and MPs will submit their report cards for the last six months and the Prime Minister will check those report cards. Apart from conducting a road show, PM Modi will also review the party organisation in the State. Eventually, the Prime Minister will join the dinner at the party office.

PM Modi will be accorded a warm welcome after he reaches Bhubaneswar Airport at 4.15 pm on Friday. Then he will address a meeting and hold a roadshow. He will spend over two hours at the party office. After joining various party programmes on November 29, PM Modi will attend the DG conference on the next day.

Before the arrival of Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Bhubaneswar. Special security will be provided to PM Modi and Shah. The entire city has been put on high alert. The venues where PM Modi is set to join a programme have been declared as ‘no flying zone’.

“It will be a historical visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as no prime Minister has earlier stayed in Odisha for three days. He will also attend the DG conference. After reaching the airport, he will address the party workers in a meeting. People are excited to watch PM Modi. He will be welcome at various places along the road with traditional music and dance. He will first visit the Governor house and then reach the party office at 6.30 pm. He will hold an elaborate discussion with the MLAs, MPs, core committee members and senior leaders at the party office for two hours. It is expected that Odisha’s development will be in focus in the meeting,” said Odisha BJP Vice-President Golak Mohapatra.

President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Odisha from December 3 to 7.
