Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren on Thursday took oath as Jharkhand chief minister for the fourth time.
Opposition INDIA bloc leaders, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal were present at Ranchi’s Morabadi Ground where Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath of office.
Soren, wearing a kurta and pyjama, met his octogenarian father and JMM president Shibu Soren before taking oath. The expansion of his cabinet will take place later.
This is the fourth stint of the JMM leader as Jharkhand chief minister. He became the 20th chief minister of an Indian state to have had four or more stints.
