Bhubaneswar: In a significant move aimed at reducing fuel costs for consumers in remote areas, the prices of petrol and diesel are set to decrease in nine localities across Odisha.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, who emphasized that the decision aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ensuring equitable facilities across the country.
The reduction in fuel prices is part of a broader initiative to rationalize intra-state freight charges, thereby addressing retail price disparities within the state. The localities benefiting from this decision include Kunanpally, Kalimela, Gondhipally, Nandapur, Maliput, Ramgiri, Badasagar, Raighar, and Jharigram.
Minister Puri shared the news on social media, highlighting the impact of this decision on the residents of these areas. “This reflects PM @narendramodi Ji’s vision to bring even far-flung areas at par with the rest of the country in terms of facilities,” he stated. The price reductions will see petrol prices drop by up to ₹4.69 and diesel prices by up to ₹4.45 in the affected localities.
