Heavy rains to lash Odisha
Bhubaneswar: As the prevailing cyclonic circulation over Bay of Bengal is going to turn into a low pressure in the next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s Bhubaneswar centre on Monday issued heavy to heavy rainfall warning for Odisha.
“The cyclonic circulation lay centred over north-east Bay of Bengal and east-central Bay of Bengal, between 3.1 and 5.8 km. It will convert into a low pressure in the next 24 hours over north-east Bay of Bengal. Hence, heavy to very heavy rainfall warning has been issued in 9 districts. The districts are Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Balangir,” a Met official said. “Besides, heavy rainfall is likely in coastal districts also. Apart from the coastal districts, Angul, Dhenkanal, Malkangiri and Rayagada districts are also likely to experience heavy rainfall,” he said.
