ECoR carries 329 tonnes of liquid oxygen through RO-RO service
Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has carried 329 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) from different steel plants in its jurisdiction towards various States in the country. ECoR sources said oxygen tankers were supplied to Maharashtra, Telangana, Haryana and Delhi at the earliest during the current Covid upsurge for saving the lives of patients.
A total of 187 tonnes of LMO has already been transported from Tata Bhushan Siding, Angul. Similarly, 105 tonnes of LMO has been transported from Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, Visakhapatnam and 31 tonnes of LMO from Jindal Steel at Angul.
The first Oxygen Express loaded with 105 tonnes of LMO left for Visakhapatnam in seven tankers. The second Oxygen Express from ECoR loaded with 32 tonnes of LMO in two tankers left from Tata Bhushan Steel Plant to Haryana.
The third Oxygen Express from Tata Bhushan Steel Plant at Angul loaded with 63.6 tonnes of LMO in five tankers left for Telangana by RO-RO service of Indian Railways.
About 30.6 tonnes of LMO in two tankers from Tata Bhushan Steel Plant, 30.86 tonnes in two tankers from Jindal Steel Plant and 60.23 tonnes of LMO in four tankers from Tata Bhushan Steel Plant were sent to Faridabad, Delhi Cantt and SNAG respectively through RO-RO service
ECoR General Manager Vidya Bhushan instructed officials to take it as a challenge to supply oxygen at the earliest during this corona pandemic and save the lives of patients.
