Crime Branch to probe BJP leader murder case
Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch will probe the murder of BJP’s Khurda Zone-9 Mandal president Manguli Jena.
Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday, DGP in-charge B K Sharma said, “We have formed four teams to nab the culprit. IG (Central Range) Soumendra Priyadarshi will monitor the probe. A team of Crime Branch’s Cyber Cell, including an Inspector, has already initiated investigation. A scientific team is also helping them. Efforts are on to identify and nab the accused. The investigation is in preliminary stage and we are looking into all aspects.”
Sharma said DSP Pramod Rath will be the Investigating Officer of this case.
A Crime Branch team has already reached Khurda. The probe will be conducted under the supervision of IG Arun Bothra.
Manguli Jena was allegedly shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Khurda town late on Sunday. He sustained bullet injuries and was rushed to Khurda district headquarters hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors.
