CM to inaugurate MSME trade fair on March 5
Bhubaneswar: The annual MSME trade fair, scheduled to be held here from March 5 to 9, will have no international participation due to Covid pandemic. This was stated by MSME Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra here on Thursday. Maximum participation will be from within the State. Various PSUs of the State and the Centre are scheduled to participate in the fair. Startups, women entrepreneurs, Mission Shakti Groups and food processing units are the focal sectors for this year’s event.
Keeping in view the prospective contribution of Mission Shakti Groups in socio-economic development of the State, special emphasis is being given for upgrading their members into successful entrepreneurs. An MoU has been signed between the MSME department and the Mission Shakti in this regard, the Minister said.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the fair which will be organised adhering to all Covid-19 protocols. The State Government has been organising the trade fair since 2013 with an objective to bring the potential buyers and sellers to a single platform for mutually beneficial trade in service product and technology.
Mishra said this time there will be five hangers with capacity of 60 stalls each out of which four hangers will be dedicated for startups, food processing units, Mission Shakti, PSUs and the rest will be for general purpose.
During the fair, five seminars on different topics are scheduled to be held at the venue.
