CBI takes Kumar to Shillong for grilling
Kolkata, Feb 9: The controversial Kolkata Police Commissioner, Rajeev Kumar, has been taken to Shillong, capital of Meghalaya, for interrogation. The 10 – member CBI team too arrived at the CBI head quarters there along with Kumar following the Supreme Court’s direction to choose a neutral venue to grill the cop.
Kumar has been under the CBI scanner for his alleged role in destroying evidences in connection with the Sarada Chit Fund scam. West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, held a dharna close to two days protesting CBI raid in Kumar’s residence here a few days ago. Meanwhile, it is learnt that Kumar has requested CBI to relive him from interrogation as quickly as possible because of Saraswati Puja and the forthcoming Board examinations beginning February 12
