BSF men come to aid of ailing woman in Malkangiri
Malkangiri: Stepping beyond their mandated duty, Border Security Force personnel saved the life of an ailing woman in Malkangiri district by facilitating ambulance and other necessary services to get her hospitalised around 75 km away at the district hospital.
At 11 am on Saturday, the BSF personnel got information about the ailing woman being ferried in a motorboat in an unconscious condition. The personnel of 144 Battalion, deputed at COB Dyke-III, observed the motorboat arriving at the ferry point of Dyke-III dam. One Purnima Hantal, a resident of Dandar Beda in Jodambo area, was in an unconscious state. The woman was accompanied by an ASHA worker and her relatives in the boat.
The BSF personnel send out an emergency call for ambulance assistance and the patient was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital in Malkangiri. The BSF team also provided essential items like mosquito net, bed sheet, hand towel and cotton cloths to the patient. The woman had serious health issues as she had given birth to a baby two days ago and needed urgent medication.
