BMC warns against unauthorised non-essential programmes
The BMC has warned stringent action against unauthorised non-essential cultural programmes in the city amid a spurt in Covid-19 cases. In a letter to the owners and managers of all hotels, Kalyan Mandaps and Guest Houses, BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said, “It has come to the notice of BMC that even after issuance of clear cut order regarding celebration of non-essential cultural programmes, many Hotels/Kalyan Mandaps/Convention halls/Guest Houses continue to hold non-essential cultural events.” He said such events are being organised without the permission of BMC or other competent authorities.
Meanwhile, as multiple Covid positive cases were reported in Taru Apartments located at Tankapani Road, the BMC sealed the apartment complex for 10 days to contain the spread of the virus.
