BJD is people’s movement, says Naveen
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday exhorted his party workers to be loyal to BJD and not to him as it is a party that works for the State.
Speaking on the 23rd foundation day of BJD, Naveen said the party is not a mere political party but it is an organisation that works for the destiny of Odisha.
“Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is not a political party and it is not dependent on some or other leader, including me, for its survival and growth.”
Naveen said, “Biju babu used to say that do not be loyal to me but be loyal to the cause of Odisha’s destiny. True to his words, BJD has now become a people’s movement.”
“We do not work to win elections rather we work 365 days to win people’s heart,” Naveen said.
The Chief Minister said the party has completed 23 years and it belongs to the family of over four crore brothers and sisters of the State.
Naveen said the talisman he has acquired from the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is that workers of the BJD must selflessly work and serve the people of Odisha. The BJD has never hankered for power, Naveen said and added that it is his sincere desire that his party men must dedicate themselves for the service of the poor and the downtrodden.
