ASO Exam rescheduling: Orissa HC refuses to interfere
Cuttack: Despite pleas from thousands of aspirants to order the OPSC to defer the ASO State Secretariat’s Assistant Section Officer (ASO) recruitment from January 20, the Orissa High Court today refused to interfere in the matter.
The court’s disagreement from not intervening in the matter has now made it certain that the ASO Exam scheduled to be held on January 20 will not be postponed.
The OPSC had released a notification on September 20, 2018, on its official website www.opsc.gov.in. for filling up of 500 vacancies for the post of ASO in Group B of Odisha Secretariat Service under Home Department. The exam was scheduled to be conducted in December 23, 2018 but the exam was postponed by the OPSC to January 20, 2019. The conducting body of the exam, OPSC had to face severe flak for this decision.
Students alleged that since national level tests like Railway Assistant Loco Pilot Examination and IBPC Clerical Exams are also scheduled to be held on the same day thereby putting the students in dilemma as to whether they should appear the ASO Exam which is being held after a period of six years to sit for the national exam.
The Congress and the BJP has brought allegations of scam in the recruitment procedure.
