Sambalpur: The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla in collaboration with Utkal University is all set to organise the AMRIT-PEEDHI: Students Global Summit 2025 from 18th to 20th December 2025 at the Convocation Hall, Utkal University in Bhubaneswar.
The Summit is supported by the Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha, and is centered on the theme “Governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Its Ethics”. The Summit is being organized in collaboration with institutions like Sambalpur Educational Cluster, Sambalpur University, Gangadhar Meher University, Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), and Odisha State Open University (OSOU). Leading universities such as Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Centurion University of Technology and Management, and KIIT Deemed to be University have also joined as academic partners, strengthening the summit’s statewide and national academic outreach.
The three-day global academic and youth leadership summit aims to bring together students, innovators, policymakers, academicians, industry leaders, researchers, and international experts to deliberate on the ethical, societal, and governance dimensions of Artificial Intelligence. The Summit will showcase innovations at the tech exhibitions titled ‘Yuva Swadeshi Navachar Pradarshani and provide a platform for policy debate titled as ‘Voices of Future’. To incentivize innovation, the Summit offers a prize pool of Rs 1,00,000 for the top five innovations, recognizing excellence, originality, and societal impact.
The Summit follows an open-access model, with free registration and no participation fees, encouraging maximum student and youth engagement. Participants will benefit from project showcase opportunities, enabling them to present live projects, innovations, startups, and prototypes directly to government officials, industry leaders, investors, and academic experts.
Speaking about the Summit, Vice-Chancellor of VSSUT Prof. Dipak Kumar Sahoo said that the event is envisioned as a youth-driven, policy-informing global platform that aligns technological innovation with ethics, responsibility, and national priorities such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat @ 2047. Participants will benefit from extensive opportunities, including live project showcases, which enable them to present innovations, startups, prototypes, and research outputs to government officials, industry leaders, investors, and academic experts. All selected innovation teams will receive free exhibition stalls, complimentary meals and refreshments, and free accommodation for outstation participants.
This apart, all accepted technical write-ups submitted by registered participants will be published in a Special Issue of the “AI Global Summit” in the Utkal University Journal of Computing & Communications (UUJCC) after a peer-review process.
Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University Prof. Jagneshwar Dandapat emphasized that hosting the Summit reflects university’s commitment to ethical technology discourse, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global academic engagement, particularly in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence.
The Summit will feature keynote sessions, expert talks, and plenary discussions by globally acclaimed speakers, academic leaders, and industry professionals. Keynote sessions have been confirmed by Prof. Hee-Cheol Kim, College of AI Convergence, Inje University, Republic of Korea; Mr. Himansu Tripathy, Head of Engineering, Datavogue, United Arab Emirates; and Mr. Harisaran Dash, AI/ML Expert, California, United States, among others.
Special Plenary Sessions on Ethical Governance of AI will be conducted by experts from Infosys, followed by Academic Leadership Dialogues involving Vice-Chancellors of universities, leaders of premier skill institutions, and senior professionals from major IT organizations such as Infosys, AntBox, LTIMindtree, and Oracle, among others.
