Bhadrak: A Revenue Inspector (RI) was allegedly assaulted by a man inside the office in Chandbali tehsil of Odisha’s Bhadrak district following a dispute over certain issue.Local Odisha Businesses
The entire incident was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras installed on the premises. The incident took place at the office of Sarana RI under Chandbali tehsil.
As per information, RI Tapas Ranjan Jena was on duty when the accused, identified as Subas Das of Jagannathpur village under Bhuinbruti panchayat, arrived at the office and asked him to carry out some changes in a document.
Jena reportedly asked Das to submit a written application. However, Das allegedly lost his temper and suddenly dragged the official and attacked him inside the office.
Jena, who sustained injuries in the attack, was shifted to a hospital for treatment following the incident.
The RI subsequently lodged a complaint at Chandbali police station and also informed the tehsildar, seeking justice in the matter.
Condemning the incident as shameful, Chandbali tehsildar Bhabatosh Mallik said strict action would be taken against the accused for the attack on a government official performing duty.
