President Murmu offers prayers at Jagannath temple

Puri: President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday offered prayers at the Shree Jagannath Temple (Srimandir) in Puri amid elaborate security arrangements for her visit.

The President was accompanied by Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, and several senior officials. Prominent servitors of the Jagannath Temple and officials of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) were also present during the visit.

In view of the high-profile presence, comprehensive security measures were put in place in and around the temple premises to ensure a smooth and safe darshan. The arrangements were coordinated by state authorities in collaboration with temple administration and local law enforcement.

The President’s visit to Srimandir reflects the cultural and spiritual significance of the holy shrine, which is one of the four ‘Dham’ pilgrimage sites and holds deep reverence for millions of devotees across India and the world.

Officials stated that all rituals and temple protocols were conducted respectfully, maintaining the sanctity of the shrine while ensuring minimal inconvenience to devotees.
