Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, on Saturday approved 11 proposals of six departments in Odisha.
The Cabinet approved a proposal of the Department of Finance to amend the Odisha Goods and Services Tax (OGST) Act, 2017 as part of an effort to align it with the Central Goods and Services (CGST) Act, 2017, amended vide Finance Act-2026.
A proposal for the extension of Popularization of Agriculture Implements, Equipment and Diesel Pump Sets scheme of the Agriculture Department for five years till 2030-31 financial year, said Chief Secretary Anu Garg while briefing the media after the Cabinet meet.
The State Cabinet also gave its nod to Mukhya Mantri Janajati Jeevika Mission (MMJJM) 2.0, the second phase of the government’s flagship tribal livelihood programme of the ST&SC Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department.
Besides, the Odisha State Legal Services (OSLS) Cadre Rules, 2026 of the Law Department received the Cabinet approval, added the Chief Secretary.
The Cabinet approved two proposals of the Housing and Urban Development Department. It gave its nod to the PMAY-U BANDHU initiative of the H&UD Department. The initiative will complement the PMAY-U 2.0 scheme and ensure universal coverage of housing to all eleigible families in urban areas.
Moreover, a proposal of the H&UD Department to amend the Odisha Development Authority (ODA) Act, 1982 for enabling establishment of Economic Region Development Authorities in the state got the Cabinet nod.
According to the Chief Secretary, the Cabinet approved a total of five proposals of the Water Resources Department to strengthen the irrigation facilities in Keonjhar, Balasore, Khurda, Puri, Rayagada and Gajapati districts.
