Rourkela: The Sanatan Jagaran Manch on Friday organised a ceremonial send-off for a massive golden bow, crafted as a sacred offering to Lord Ram, marking the beginning of its journey to Ayodhya.
The golden bow measures eight feet in length and three feet in height. Artisans used one kilogram of gold, two and a half kilograms of silver, along with copper, zinc, and iron to create the bow in traditional panchadhatu style. The bow weighs nearly 286 kilograms and reflects a blend of devotion and craftsmanship.
The construction cost reached approximately Rs 1.10 crore. Craftsmen in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, completed the intricate work before the bow travelled to Odisha for its ceremonial departure. Organisers emphasised that the bow symbolises reverence for Lord Ram and dedication to the ideals of Sanatan Dharma.
The Sanatan Jagaran Manch announced that the offering also honours martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The bow represents both spiritual devotion and patriotic commitment. Leaders of the Manch highlighted that the initiative aims to spread awareness about Hindu traditions and strengthen cultural unity.
Residents of Rourkela gathered to witness the departure, expressing pride in contributing to a historic religious gesture. The bow will reach Ayodhya, where it will be presented as a tribute to Lord Ram. Organisers believe the golden bow will inspire devotion among thousands of pilgrims and reinforce the significance of Sanatan Dharma in contemporary society.
