Man Hacked To Death Outside Court In Odisha’s Ganjam, Accused Nabbed

Berhampur: In a shocking daylight murder, a 44-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death with an axe outside a court complex in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Thursday.

As per information, the incident took place outside the court of the Additional District Judge (ADJ) in Bhanjanagar town. The deceased has been identified as Ashok Kumar Swain of Buduli village.

Sources said Ashok had been to the court to attend the hearing of a case. While coming out of the court premises, he was attacked by a man with an axe several times.

Locals quickly intervened and managed to overpower the accused before informing the police. The injured was rushed to Bhanjanagar Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors declared him dead while he was undergoing treatment.

Police reached the spot, seized the axe used in the crime, and detained the accused for questioning. The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.
