Kendhujhar: A POCSO court in Odisha’s Kendhujhar district on Tuesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for sexually harassing his minor daughter last year.
The court also directed the concerned authorities to provide compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the victim.
The incident had taken place in the Barbil police station area of the district.
According to the case details, the victim’s mother witnessed the incident and confronted her husband. She subsequently lodged a complaint at the Barbil police station, following which legal proceedings were initiated.
During the trial, the court examined the statements of eight witnesses and considered the evidence presented in the case. Based on the evidence, the district POCSO court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
