H&UD Minister calls for transparency and quality in urban development projects

Bhubaneswar: Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra chaired a comprehensive review meeting on key urban development programmes.

The meeting assessed progress, performance, and on-ground implementation of flagship initiatives, including the Mukhyamantri Sahari Bikash Yojana (MSBY), ‘Sahajog,’ and other civic infrastructure projects.

Dr Mahapatra emphasised that these schemes strengthen urban infrastructure, improve basic civic amenities, and enhance the quality of life for residents across Odisha. Moreover, he placed special focus on the state-wide pothole clearance drive, reviewing city-wise progress in detail. He directed officials and urban local bodies to complete pothole repair works on time, using durable engineering solutions to improve road safety and ensure smooth traffic movement.

Furthermore, the Minister stressed the importance of continuous field monitoring, strict quality control, and effective coordination among implementing agencies. He highlighted the need for prompt grievance redressal and citizen-centric service delivery to ensure transparency and accountability in programme execution.

Principal Secretary Smt. Usha Padhee, Director of Municipal Administration, Shri Arindam Dakua, Special Secretaries, Additional Secretaries, senior officers, and departmental staff attended the meeting. They presented detailed updates on programme implementation and outlined future action plans.
