Hot & Humid Conditions May Prevail In Coastal Odisha; Temp To Fall After 3 Days

Bhubaneswar: Amid the continuing thunderstorm activity, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday warned of hot and humid conditions in some coastal districts of Odisha till April 4.

According to the midday bulletin, hot and humid conditions may prevail at one or two places in the
districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur during this period. It further noted that the day temperature is unlikely to witness any large change during the next three days and thereafter fall by 2-4 degrees across the state.

Yellow warning for thunderstorm activity during the afternoon/evening hours has also been issued for several districts of the state till April 6.

Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in Koraput, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar Kandhamal, Balangir and Bargarh districts on April 2; Malkangiri and Koraput on April 3; Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur on April 4; Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada and Balangir on April 5; and Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Koraput and Malkangiri districts on April 6.

Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind (40-50 kmph) may also occur at isolated places in the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh on April 5 and Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Ganjam and Gajapati on April 6, it added.
