Heavy rain, thunderstorms may continue in Odisha for 3 more days

Bhubaneswar: Odisha may continue to experience heavy rains for three more days with a trough running from cyclonic circulation over west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north coastal Andhra Pradesh to northeast Arabian sea across south Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Monday.

According to the midday bulletin, heavy rain may continue in the districts of Sundargada, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj on July 21, and Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Sundargada, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj on June 22. Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind (30-40 kmph) is also likely in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada on these two days.

Thunderstorm activity may continue in Sundargada, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda on June 23. While there is no warning thereafter, light to moderate rain or thundershower may occur at a few places across the State during the subsequent 5 days, it added.
