Bhubaneswar: A State-level children festival “Mahak” inaugurated today at Kalinga Stadium. This 5-days event is being organised by the Departments of Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti and Odisha State Child Protection Society.
Over 500 children from all over the State will showcase their talents in solo singing, group dance, debate, painting and quiz competition. The festival stands as a testament to Odisha’s unwavering belief that every child deserves a stage to shine.
On the inaugural day, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Minister of Law, Works and Excise Prithiviraj Harichandan, Principal Secretary of WCD Shubha Sarma, Director of ICDS Monisha Banerjee, Addl. Secretary of WCD Krutibas Rout among others graced the occasion. They remarked that every child is a promise of Odisha’s brighter tomorrow. They also encouraged them to dream high and utilized their abilities as instruments of change.
On this occasion, a Coffee Table Book on “Mission Vatsalya” was unveiled showcasing Odisha’s transformative journey in child protection. A video on achievement of “Mission Vatsalya” beneficiaries was also screened.
