Paralakhemundi: A major fire broke out at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Paralakhemundi in Odisha’s Gajapati district on Saturday, completely destroying the office’s server room.
According to reports, the fire broke out on the first floor of the RTO office. The flames rapidly engulfed the server room, leaving equipment and other materials inside completely burnt.
After being alerted about the incident, fire services personnel rushed to the spot and launched an operation to bring the blaze under control. Efforts were made to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the office building.
A preliminary assessment suggests that an electrical short circuit may have triggered the fire. However, the exact cause of the blaze has not yet been established.
Officials are expected to assess the damage caused by the fire, including the extent of loss to servers, electronic equipment and other office property. The total financial loss will become clear after a detailed investigation.
Authorities are also likely to examine the condition of the electrical installations to determine whether an electrical fault was responsible for the incident.
