Bhubaneswar: All five members of a family in Rayagada district allegedly attempted suicide at the Collector’s grievance cell after the authorities allegedly failed to give them justice in a land dispute.
As per reports, the family of Yadala Gangulu of Jamadeipentha village have been cultivating around three acres of government land for last four decades. As they have no other source of income, the family has been earning livelihood by cultivating the land.
Gangulu had moved the Collector’s grievance cell for justice after another individual reportedly claimed ownership over the land. Gangulu and four other members of his family consumed pesticides in a suicide bid after they failed to get justice in the case, sources said.
