Bhubaneswar: Some places across five districts of Odisha may witness extremely heavy rainfall till August 31, said the IMD on Saturday.
As per the prediction, extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur at some places across the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj and Kendujhar districts till August 31. The IMD has issued a Red warning in this regard.
Besides, a few places across the districts of Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Debagada, Jharsuguda, Baragada and Nuapada are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall till September 2. The IMD has issued an Orange warning for these districts.
In addition to this, several places in districts like Subarnapur, Boudh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri and Khordha may witness heavy rainfall till September 4.
Many places across the state received light to moderate rainfall during the last 24 hours while a few places in the districts of Mayurbhanj and Baleshwar in North Odisha witnessed heavy to very heavy rainfall, said the IMD regional centre in its weather bulletin on Saturday.
