Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again entrusted senior leader Daggubati Purandeswari with the responsibility of Odisha BJP in-charge.
Dr Swadesh Singh has been appointed as the co-in-charge of the Odisha unit of the party.
Purandeswari, a senior BJP leader from Andhra Pradesh, had previously served as the party’s in-charge for Odisha, as she was given the appointment in 2020. Her reappointment assumes significance ahead of the panchayat and urban polls in the state.
Purandeswari and Singh have replaced Vijay Pal Singh Tomar and Sushree Lata Usendi, respectively, for the posts.
In another key appointment, Kendrapada MP Baijayant Panda has been given charge of Maharashtra BJP.
