CREDAI Odisha delegation meets H&UD Minister, welcomes simplification of apartment transfer registration

Bhubaneswar: A delegation of CREDAI Odisha led by its Chairman Swadesh Kumar Routray met Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra here on Saturday.

During the meeting, CREDAI Odisha discussed various issues concerning the real-estate sector and welcomed the initiatives of the H&UD department towards simplification of procedures, transparency and ease of doing business. The delegation welcomed the special order issued by the State government on August 21 under the Odisha Apartment (Ownership and Management) Act, 2023.

The order streamlines apartment transfer registration by treating the endorsement on the first deed of transfer as applicable to all apartments within the same registered project. This eliminates the need for repetitive endorsements on subsequent transfer deeds while retaining the necessary statutory safeguards.

The measure is a significant step towards Ease of Doing Business. It is expected to reduce procedural delays and administrative burden for homebuyers, promoters and registration authorities, while enabling faster and more efficient service delivery in the real-estate sector. CREDAI Odisha and CREDAI Bhubaneswar expressed their sincere gratitude to the Government of Odisha for the progressive decision.

The delegation included President of CREDAI Odisha Anil Kumar Agarwal, Vice President Umesh Khandelwal, President of CREDAI Bhubaneswar Seikh Mairajul Haque, Secretary Kalinga Keshari Ratha, Treasurer Manmohan Agarwala and managing committee members Debasis Das and A. Mohan Rao.

CREDAI Odisha also placed on record its appreciation for the sustained efforts and regular follow-up of Routray, Agarwal, Haque and Ratha. Their constructive engagement with the Government and commitment to resolving industry concerns have contributed meaningfully to this important facilitation measure.

CREDAI Odisha and CREDAI Bhubaneswar reaffirm their commitment to working closely with the Government to promote responsible development, investor confidence, ease of doing business, transparency and the interests of homebuyers. The associations remain committed to a constructive partnership for the sustainable growth of Odisha’s real-estate sector.
