Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department has announced an extension of the application deadline for the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) 2026, allowing students more time to apply for postgraduate admissions in state public universities and colleges for the 2026–27 academic session.
Originally set to close on March 15, the submission window for the Common Application Form (CAF) through the SAMS portal (samsodisha.gov.in or pg.samsodisha.gov.in) has now been extended until 11.45 PM on March 18.
This decision followed reported issues with payments and server access that prevented some aspirants from completing their applications on time.
The entrance examinations will be conducted between April 27 and May 10, covering multiple postgraduate subjects. Selection will be based on the marks secured in the test.
The Higher Education Department has set July 10 as the target date for the commencement of postgraduate courses in universities and colleges. Officials emphasised that the move is part of efforts to streamline the academic calendar, ensuring timely completion of classes, examinations and results.
