CM Majhi felicitates Indian Idol winner Jyotirmayee with Rs 5 lakh cash award

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday felicitated Indian Idol Season-16 winner Jyotirmayee Nayak at his official residence, celebrating her national achievement and honouring her as a cultural icon of the state.

The CM announced a Rs 5 lakh award in recognition of Jyotirmayee’s extraordinary talent and perseverance. He praised her journey from hard work and dedication to national recognition, calling her a “youth icon” and an inspiration for the next generation of singers.

During the meeting, Jyotirmayee presented her Indian Idol trophy and shared the story of her rigorous efforts behind the success. The CM lauded her for bringing glory to Odisha through her artistry, attributing her triumph to Lord Jagannath’s blessings, talent, and discipline.

Beyond her musical achievements, Jyotirmayee has also contributed to society by using music therapy in cancer hospitals across Odisha, helping patients ease their suffering. The CM highlighted this unique service, saying it could set a new trend in healthcare.

He added that the dedication of young talents like Jyotirmayee will help realise the vision of a prosperous Odisha and a developed India. The felicitation ceremony was attended by her parents, Chakradhar Nayak and Gauri Nayak, and was marked by widespread appreciation from citizens.
