Bhubaneswar: The Centre has sanctioned Rs 44.91 crore for the development of the Maa Kichakeswari Temple complex at Khiching in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district under the PRASHAD scheme of the Ministry of Tourism.
The project aims to strengthen pilgrimage tourism in the region by developing modern tourism infrastructure and improving facilities for pilgrims and visitors at the historic temple complex.
The development work is expected to include better tourist amenities and other infrastructure aimed at providing a more convenient experience for devotees and tourists visiting Khiching.
The initiative is part of the Centre’s efforts to develop important religious and cultural destinations while preserving India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
The development of the Maa Kichakeswari Temple is also expected to boost religious tourism in Mayurbhanj and provide a push to the wider tourism sector and local economy by attracting more visitors to the region.
