BonV Aero to set up drone park at Khurda

Bhubaneswar: In a first, Odisha is set to get its drone park at Khurda. BonV Aero, a leading startup, will set up the project worth Rs 300 crore of unmanned aerial vehicle-making facility in Khurda.

With this, Odisha will become one of India’s premier destinations for high-tech UAV making and aerospace innovation. The project will span over 2.5 acres. The facility will have drone assembly lines, a Drone Centre of Excellence and an industrial skilling centre. Besides, there will be an Experience Centre for fruitful exchanges on UAV technology. The company also plans to set up a remote drone pilot training facility.

“We are not just building a facility, we are building the state’s gateway into the international UAV economy,” said Satyabrata Satapathy, co-founder and CEO of BonV Aero.

According to Satapathy, Odisha’s policy climate has played a decisive role in finalizing the new project in the state. He credited the state’s Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing Policy 4.0, the B-MAAN Scheme supporting drone, e-VTOL development, and the proposed defence and aerospace integrated manufacturing hub at Dhenkanal.
