ABVP’s 3-day National Executive Council meeting begins in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A three-day national executive council meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) was commenced in Bhubaneswar on Friday. National president Prof. Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari inaugurated the event in the presence of national general secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki, and national organising secretary Ashish Chauhan.

Addressing the inaugural session, ABVP national general secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki said the meeting will deliberate on several important issues, including education, the global scenario, sports, environment, technology, and other contemporary subjects.

Praising the decision taken by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to fully implement the three-language policy, Solanki said it is a positive step towards the Indianisation of education and the strengthening of national unity. In view of the continuously increasing inter-state migration for employment and higher education across the country, knowledge of Indian languages will prove immensely beneficial for students in shaping their future. The flexible measures proposed by the Board to address practical challenges during the transition phase, such as the availability of textbooks and the shortage of teachers, are commendable. ABVP believes that along with the study of languages, board examinations should also be conducted in accordance with the three-language framework, he added.

The meeting will also hold detailed discussions on the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), the promotion of Indian languages, and various dimensions of the three-language policy. The meeting will also deliberate upon necessary suggestions and the future course of action regarding this subject, he highlighted.

As many as 484 ABVP karyakartas from various states across the nation are participating in the meeting, which will conclude on Sunday.
