A year of good governance in Odisha, says PM Modi

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday lauded Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and his team for their impressive performance since assuming office, calling it a year of good governance in Odisha.

The PM said the BJP government in Odisha entirely focused on public service and earning people’s trust in the first year.

“Today, 20th June, is a very special day. Today, the first BJP government in Odisha has successfully completed one year. This anniversary is not just of the government; it is the anniversary of the establishment of good governance. This one year was dedicated to public service and public trust. I heartily congratulate the people of Odisha. I also congratulate Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and his entire team,” he said while presiding over the state-level commemorative function.

He also emphasised on how the double engine government has been fulfilling all the guarantees given during elections. “When the BJP government in Odisha is completing its first year, all of you are busy preparing for Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath. Mahaprabhu is our idol and inspiration and with the blessings of Mahaprabhu, the issues related to the Srimandir have also been resolved. I congratulate Mohan ji and his government for respecting the requests of crores of devotees. As soon as the government was formed here, all the four doors of the Srimandir were opened. Ratna Bhandar has also been opened and this is not a matter of political victory or defeat. This has been done to respect the faith of crores of devotees,” he said.

105 projects worth Rs 18,600 cr inaugurated

The Prime Minister also launched 105 development projects valued at over Rs 18,600 crores. The projects included drinking water and irrigation, health infrastructure, rural roads and bridges, national highways and railway infrastructure. Railway projects such as the third and fourth rail lines between Sarla-Sason and the fourth rail line between Jharsuguda-Jamga were also launched.
