Alliance Air starts flight operation from Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda: Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, launched flight services from Veer Surendra Sai Airport (VSSA) in Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar and Raipur on Wednesday.
The flights will operate under Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme of the Central Government.
Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, State Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das, Brajrajnagar MLA Kishore Mohanty and Usha Padhee, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, were present on the occasion.
Speaking to mediapersons, Suresh Pujari said, “It will be our effort in coming days to make Jharsuguda Airport the number 1 in Odisha.” He further said he will request the authorities of Air India and Ministry of Civil Aviation to start flight operations from the city to Bengaluru and Mumbai.
While 72 air passengers travelled from Bhubaneswar to Jharsuguda, 54 journeyed from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar on Day 1.
As per schedule, Flight AI 9719 will leave Jharsuguda at 10.35 am and reach Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar at 11.35 am. Similarly, Flight AI 9727 will depart from Bhubaneswar at 9.05 am and reach Jharsuguda at 10.10 am.
On the other hand, Flight AI 9728 will depart from Jharsuguda at 5.15 pm and reach Raipur at 6.10 pm. Likewise, Flight AI 9720 will leave Raipur at 3.45 pm and reach Jharsuguda at 4.50 pm.
Slight changes have been made in the schedule only for Wednesday on the occasion of inauguration of flight services.
Earlier, on March 31, SpiceJet had launched flight services from Jharsuguda airport to New Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata under the UDAN scheme.
