After Jaga-Kalia, another conjoined twins born in Dhenkanal
Dhenkanal: After Jaga-Kalia, another conjoined twins were born in Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) on Monday.
The twin girls, joined from chest to stomach, were born to Renubala Behera and Pradeep Behera of Khalapala village under Parjang block. The girls weigh around 4 kg and are healthy, doctors said.
Renubala was admitted to the district hospital in the morning following labour pain. After delivery, the girls were shifted to Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack for further treatment in order to avoid any future complications.
The incident reminds one of Kandhamal conjoined twins Jaga-Kalia, attached at head, who were successfully separated at AIIMS, New Delhi in 2017. After several months of post-surgery treatment, the twins are set to return to Odisha soon.
