3 minor sisters die in Digapahandi due to food poisoning
Berhampur: Three minor sisters, aged six, seven and ten respectively, died on Saturday in Digapahandi due to food poisoning. The deceased sisters hailed from Matiaborei village under Sanakhemundi police limits in Ganjam district. They were staying with their grandfather at B Turubudi village under Digapahandi block.
Sources said the three sisters complained of nausea and uneasiness after consuming food on Wednesday. They were immediately rushed to Digapahandi hospital.
Later, they were shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur as their health condition deteriorated.
The younger one died on Friday morning. The two other sisters succumbed on Saturday while undergoing treatment.
The exact reason behind the death of the minor girls is still unclear. Preliminary investigation suggests that the trio died due to food poisoning.
