OIL donates Rs. 3.2 crore to Odisha for 1000 KL kerosene
Bhubaneswar,May 13: Oil India Limited on Monday donated Rs. 3.2 crore to the Special Relief Commissioner(SRC) of Odisha towards relief for the Fani ravaged areas.
Earlier in the day, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had announced that one of the oil public sector undertakings would contribute Rs.3.2 crore to meet the cost of 1000 kilo litres of kerosene out of its Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) fund to the state. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had written to the Centre a few days ago to make available 1000 KL of kerosene free of cost to meet the requirement in the Fani affected districts.
Replying to the Chief Minister, Pradhan wrote that his ministry and its PSUs stand committed to provide necessary support and assistance to the affected people. Sufficient quantity of petrol, diesel and LPG have been supplied to meet the requirement in the ravaged areas, he said.
Oil India has also assured to make available additional 10 lakh litres of kerosene to Odisha. Naveen Patnaik , meanwhile, has thanked Pradhan for his help.
