Now RSBY beneficiaries will get health cover under BKKY: Health Minister
Bhubaneswar: With the termination of Rastriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) scheme implemented by the Centre on December 31, 2018 the Odisha government today announced that the existing beneficiaries under the scheme can now avail health coverage under the State-implemented Biju Krushak Kalyan Yojana (BKKY).
Briefing media, Health Minister Pratap Jena said State government has decided to cover the existing RSBY beneficiaries under the BKKY (Stream-II) by providing a total of Rs 1 lakh insurance coverage.
Around 44, 08, 070 families enrolled under the central scheme will now be included under the ambit of the BKKY.
A press statement from the Health Department stated that the beneficiaries who have not received their BKKY (Stream II card) can get them by producing their RSBY cards at all district headquarters hospitals, offices of Deputy Director of Agriculture and Coordinators of districts.
At present, more than 70 lakh families of the State are provided Rs five lakh per family (Rs 7 lakh to women members of family) as health coverage at all government and 208 empaneled private health institutions of the State.
