Crime Branch asks BSE to lodge plaint over OTET paper leak
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Crime Branch on Friday asked the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) to lodge a formal complaint in connection with the question paper leakage of the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) Exam 2018 held on Wednesday.
“The Board of Secondary Education is yet to file legal complaint in this regard. We have only received a letter from the Board. Only after a complaint is lodged, we will initiate a probe & necessary action would be taken,” informed Crime Branch ADG Santosh Upadhyay.
The board had earlier written to the State Crime Branch to initiate a probe into the incident.
On January 16, thousands of aspirants for OTET, the State’s top recruitment exam of teachers in various government schools in Odisha, were left fuming after the authorities cancelled the exam following a probe into the allegations of question paper leakage.
The cancellation of the exam had sparked displeasure among the aspiring candidates who blamed the authorities for the fiasco. Hundreds of aspirants also staged dharna at separate places in the State demanding the government to probe into the matter.
